Bubble chamber picture showing dark proton track

This picture was taken in the CERN 2-metre hydrogen bubble chamber exposed to a parallel beam of particles with an energy of 8.2 GeV.
The highlighted dark track is instantly recognizable as a slow proton that has come to rest.
