This experiment will give you an opportunity to use a scientific CCD camera to study the spectrum of ordinary fluorescent room light, a sodium lamp, and sunlight scattered by the atmosphere. The instruments are ready for your use in the Astronomy Laboratory, Room 309. This lab is open for the survey course students on Tuesday at 10 AM, 2 PM, and 7 PM; on Wednesday at 10 AM, 12 noon, and 7 PM, and on Thursday at 10 AM and 2 PM. If the computer is free you can go in at one of those times. You may also stay after the lab is over, but please be sure that the spectrometer and camera are turned off and the door is closed securely when you leave. Prof. Kielkopf is available on Tuesday afternoons if you need help.
